The Viewsonic G-Tablet is again not a pure E-Reader but more an allrounder, more comparable to the Ipad than it is to the Kindle. The first thing that is remarkable about this device is that it features an incredibly fast Android system, which makes playing around with it even smoother that on an IPad in our opinion. The Screen itself is crystal clear and has a lot of contrast, which of course drains the battery faster than in a Kindle (calculate with approx. 7 hours here vs. 4 weeks with the Kindle at moderate use.
With integrated Google technology, the G Tablet brings one-touch access to the popular Google mobile services millions use every day, including Google Search by voice, Google Maps with Street View, Gtalk, YouTube, Picasa, and contacts/calendar synchronization. Gain access to thousands of leading Android apps via an Apps Store icon located on the home screen.

This is definitly the right device for you if you are looking into a tablet device anyway or own an android phone and like the OS better than Apple’s. Personally we like this one better than the IPad, but then again we were never a big fan of Apple’s closed systems.
