Sony PRS-505

The Sony PRS-505 is Sony’s second-generation e-book reader. It uses the popular electronic paper display format made by E Ink Corporation, displaying an image in 166 dpi resolution, creating a real paper look. The device reads both Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF text files, and can play MP3 format sound files as well as display JPEG image files. The PRS-505 has been set up to go against the Amazon Kindle from the beginning and is said by many to have a little bit more features than its competitor. But let’s see for ourselves… Read the full review

Sony Daily Edition PRS 900

The new Sony daily edition surely is the logical next step in E-Reader development. Considering the size of the Reader, it is definitely suitable to read whole Newspapers on it without losing too much of the “Real Experience”, which of course impacts the portability at the same time. Sony took a page from Amazon on Tuesday in the intensifying competition to dominate the fast-growing e-book market, and it added a few chapters of its own. The electronics giant introduced the Reader Daily Edition, its first portable… Read the full review

Sony PRS-700

The Sony PRS-700 is probably the one reader which is perceived as being the most advanced and most stylish of them all, at least that is what we hear from users around us. Sony of course has some experience with E-Readers by now and had some time to come up with solutions to problems which were reported by the users of earlier versions of the PRS. Let’s have a look how they did with the 700.   The PRS-700 weighs just 10 ounces, so it’s a tad lighter than the Kindle. The six-inch display is exactly the same size as… Read the full review

Sony PRS-500

Sony’s PRS-500 is already a bit longer in the market and therefore has not been subject to multiple evolutions, like the Kindle with its version 2 or the later versions of the PRS. However it is still a reasonable gadget and today the users switching to a newer version of the product provide for a reasonable amount of used 500′s on the market. Let’s have a look on one of the first readers on the market and if users were and are satisfied with its performance.    The display is one of the primary selling points… Read the full review

Sony PRS-T1

E-Reader - Kindle - Sony PRS-T1The PRS-T1 is Sony´s weapon of choice against the new Amazon Kindle, and on first glance the e-reader is very similar to the Kindle. The casing looks high quality, a bit more robust that the Kindle, and the screen is sleek and, due to this being a touchscreen, dominates the front of the device. One advantage when using the Sony vs. the Kindle is the speed of the display: It´s much faster that the Kindle, which takes maybe half a second to build new screens when you for example turn the page while reading. And this… Read the full review
